Othea and Mary Harney and their growing family (eventually numbering six children) moved frequently. An early stop was Cement, Oklahoma, where their first child, Marian was born in 1911. They were back in central Illinois the following year, where Alfred and Elizabeth were born. 1917 saw the family in Mt. Pleasant, Utah and the arrival of Owen. George Robert was born in Iowa in 1922 and by 1925 the family finally settled in central Illinois where James Richard was born. Othea died in 1960. All four of his sons served in World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. Eldest daughter Marian would head west after marrying Elwyn Clemmons in 1930.
